GFN recognized as 2019 Lipman Family Prize Honoree

Last week, The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) was recognized as a 2019 Honoree for the Barry & Marie Lipman Family Prize at an award ceremony at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Philadelphia.

The Lipman Family Prize is an annual global prize honoring organizations that celebrate leadership and innovation in the social sector with an emphasis on impact and transferability of practices. Three organizations are selected among hundreds of applications.

The Lipman Family Prize recognizes and supports these organizations, providing a service to the broader social sector by connecting organizations across service areas to the broader University of Pennsylvania community.

As a 2019 Honoree, GFN will be awarded:

  • A $50,000 unrestricted cash award.
  • An ongoing partnership with the University dedicated to knowledge sharing and support of the organization. This includes promotion of their work and accomplishments in the Lipman Prize network of organizations, Penn faculty and alumni, and social impact funders.
  • Access to tuition-free executive education programs at Wharton Executive Education and the Center for Social Impact Strategy.
  • The exclusive Lipman Nonprofit Leadership Scholarship, given in partnership with the University’s School of Public Policy and Practice.

“We are so honored to be recognized as a 2019 Lipman Family Prize Honoree.” said Lisa Moon, President and CEO, GFN. “We are excited to join this community of change-makers that are bringing innovative ideas to solve the world’s greatest problems.”
