Angela Supernaw

Strategic Grants Director
“I see the role of GFN’s Strategic Grants Program as twofold – to financially support our food bank partners in achieving their goals and to provide training in project design, grant writing, and donor stewardship. It is a collaborative process every step of the way, with the grants team and food banks constantly learning and challenging one another and evolving together.”

Angela joined GFN in November 2017. As Strategic Grants Director, Angela is responsible for developing the strategic framework of GFN’s grants portfolio and assessing its implementation and impact across the network. Prior to joining GFN, Angela held similar roles at Lions Clubs International where she administered blindness prevention grants in Latin America and managed the strategic development of international programming. Angela is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in El Salvador and holds a Master of Science in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is fluent in Spanish, maintains a large collection of live orchids, and enjoys spending her free time exploring the many beaches and nature preserves in the Chicagoland area with her husband and two children.
