Shamir supports GFN’s executive management, strategy and coordination, internal communications, and other essential functions. Prior to GFN, he served as Chief of Staff at the Children’s Defense Fund and as the Head of Executive Office at the United Nations Foundation.
With over 25 years of international experience, Shamir has lived and traveled to over 35 countries. In addition to English, he speaks Nepali, Hindi, and French. He currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, three kids, and two Cane Corsos. Shamir holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida.
