Danone’s Battle Against Waste Campaign to Help Support The Global FoodBanking Network

Donation Button

Globally, more food is wasted or lost than ever before. Roughly one-third, or approximately 1.3 billion tons, of the food produced for human consumption gets lost or wasted every year.

Waste has a negative social, economic, and environmental impact so at Danone, our program Battle Against Waste aims to ensure no consumable food goes to waste whilst we halve our food waste in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.

When food is still fit for consumption, Danone works with local food redistribution partners alongside The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) to ensure no food goes to waste and food & drink products reach those in need.

In 2022, the Danone & GFN partnership provided the equivalent of 7,207,767 meals donated across 10 countries!

Join us as we partner with GFN for our Battle Against Waste employee giving campaign. Make a donation or thank a food banker today to support GFN’s global network of food banks. Together we can help millions of people around the world have equitable and efficient food systems.

If you’d like to know more about how to play your part within Danone; contact your local D2D Battle Against Waste lead to reduce and redistribute food waste in our operations.

In partnership with Danone, GFN is offering three ways to support their critical work:

  1. Participate in our 2023 giving campaign via the donate & support button.
  2. Send a thank you message to a food banker in the GFN network across six continents in nearly 50 counties, thanking them for their tireless work in support of those experiencing hunger.
  3. Stay informed! Sign up for GFN’s newsletter or follow them on FacebookTwitterLinkedInInstagramYouTube, and share their work with your network!

We hope you’ll join us in supporting GFN as we work together to support society’s most vulnerable in the fight to achieve global food security and stability.
